Social Events are a very important part of the AMUN experience. After discussing and debating at the committees' sessions during mornings and afternoons, AMUN delegates will be invited to attend the evening social events. Each day will have a scheduled activity, all of which are being already carefully organized by the AMUN Host Team and shall be a great opportunity for AMUN participants to get to know each other and the Brazilian culture. This year the evening social events will be as follow:
Day 1st – Opening Ceremony & Cocktail The formal Opening Ceremony will count on the participation of AMUN staff members and Faculty Advisers, Brazilian and foreign ambassadors and members of the UN bodies and institutions who support AMUN. Afterwards, a cocktail will be served to all participants, staff members and distinguished guests.
2nd day – Cultural Party This year the Cultural Party will be hosted once again by an Embassy. The utmost entertainment here is ultimately up to the delegates: each delegation is invited to bring along typical food, drinks, and material from their represented country. Go all out, set up your booths and unleash your creativity! This is your chance to make the conference truly cosmopolitan – not quite in the solemn UN way.
3rd day – First Typical Party The AMUN 13th edition intends to innovate on the manners of having fun at this First Typical Party. Looking forward to adapt to the demands of our traditional participants and make things better than never, the Cultural Activities Board is already working to achieve a degree where every person present at AMUN 2010 parties might have a lot of fun at an adequate price for the entertainment. More information about this specific party will become public soon.
4th day – Brazilian Party - ASCUP In 2010, the Brazilian Thematic Party will take advantage from the fact that 2010 is a World Soccer Cup year in order to have an open field party stressing this theme. Also, our plan is to regain the traditional Americas Soccer Cup (ASCUP), which is now on its 6th edition. The plan is to link the VI ASCUP to the Thematic World Cup party and to Brazilian peculiar characteristics, like the soccer passion, which not only delivers a big amount of fun and interaction, but also unites people from different cultures in order to strengthen cooperation and assimilation due to a sport.
5th day – Farewell Party Closing time… as they say, all good things come to an end. After five days of discussions, many resolutions, working papers and countless amendments, it’s time to wrap it all up and bid a final farewell. We will take you to one of Brasília’s best nightclubs to celebrate the end of this special edition of AMUN, which marks the end of the first decade of the 21st century. We hope this one will make you, too, look forward to a whole other decade ahead of us. |
