Every Model United Nations establishes and adopts general rules of procedure to be observed during the conference, inside each committee. AMUN General Rules of Procedure, for its part, have long been established in cooperation with the UFRGSMUN Secretariat. The mutual adoption of these rules by two of the most traditional and renowned Brazilian MUNs has provided innovative guidelines to delegates who crave realism when simulating.

The 12^th AMUN introduced two major innovations which are worth noticing: a new “Point of Inquiry” was promoted to replace the ailing and controversial Point of Parliamentary Inquiry; and new kinds of documents present in ordinary UN and multilateral discussions were added to the official committee decisions’ roll of possibilities.
