1. Position Papers
It is already online the form for submitting you Position Papers . Just go to www.amun.org.br/positionpapers.htm , click on “Position Papers Submission Form” and your document will be automatically sent to your Directors.
Because the form took longer than we thought to go online, the new deadline for submitting the Position Papers is July 14 th , when all documents will be sent to all delegates registered in AMUN, accordingly to their committees.
We remind you that respecting the deadline for sending the Position Papers is to be included as one of the criteria for this AMUN's awards policy .
Very important: it is still necessary that Head Delegates bring all their delegates' printed Position Papers alongside with them for registration purposes .

2. Working Papers
It is also online the form for submitting you Working Papers . Just go to www.amun.org.br/workingpapers.htm, click on “Working Papers Submission Form” and your document will be automatically sent to your Directors.
This is one incentive for delegates to start debating the Topic Areas already with some documents to base their discussions on the floor. This might be very useful for committees which have two Topic Areas, because it turns discussions more dynamic and enables delegates to know from the begging what other delegates want to base their arguments on.
Differently from Position Papers, Working Papers will not be distributed beforehand to all delegates, but only by the beginning of the Conference.
In committees with more than one Topic Area, delegates might submit Working Papers for the Topic Area they choose (A, B or both), but they will only be distributed after the adoption of the Agenda and depending on the approved Topic Area.
It is important to mention that the Working Papers still depend on their approval by the Directors , and that submitting online a Working Paper does not mean that it will be automatically ready for distribution by the beginning of the Conference – if the Directors feel that it is necessary to contact the delegate that produced the document, they might do it by e-mail or during the first committee's session in AMUN.
Just in the case of online Working Papers, they must be signed by the delegates that produced them. If two or more delegates of the same committee decide to produce a Working Paper together – via e-mail or because they already know each other – they must include their delegation names as signatories.
You will be able to send you Working Papers until July 16 th . Just go to the above-mentioned link.

5. Special Lecture by Luiz Carlos Azenha
Do not miss on Tuesday (July 19 th ) the awesome lecture by Luiz Carlos Azenha , TV Globo's famous correspondent.
He will talk about his experience in some of the world's most important moments, such as the last year of the USSR and his interview with Gorbachov , Sierra Leone's civil war , the fall of the Berlin wall , the September 11 th and the US politics , the Iraqui War and the fall of Saddam Russein's regime .
You will have a unique opportunity to talk to someone who lived all those things, and had to do an impartial analysis of everything. We are looking forward to this moment!
For more information on his professional and personal background, visit http://viomundo.globo.com.

6. Venue: Arrival in Brasilia and Lodging
If you are arriving by bus or airplane, no matter when, please write us that we can arrange you transfers! Do not forget to mention your name and delegation, a telephone number for contact (preferably a mobile phone that will be with you when you arrive – and that will be able to receive phone calls), number of flight or bus company you are traveling with, the number of people that arrive with you (very important!) , where are you supposed to be left (Hotel Manhattan or Centro de Convenções Israel Pinheiro are the only options), where are you coming from, the time you leave your city and the time expected for your arrival. Any messages that fail in proving us with all these details shall be disregarded by the staff, once we need all this information to correctly pick you up.
Please send all information to logistics@amun.org.br . This is the only e-mail address that shall receive this sort of information/request – if you send to another e-mail address, you run the risk of not being picked up.
We strongly suggest that delegates that are coming by airplane contact Interline Turismo, which has special fees for AMUN - eventos@interlineturismo.com.br or +55 (61) 3962-4000 / ext. 249 or 250.
If you staying in one of AMUN's official Hotels, please make sure that your reservation is confirmed and that you have booked for the correct period of time. Go to our website for more details (http://www.amun.org.br/venue.htm). No confirmations are to be done by AMUN staff and we are not responsible for any possible mistakes with bookings and flights.

7. Cultural Party
This year's theme for the party is Happy UN 60th Anniversary ! There will be special attractions, food and beverages that will make delegates feel that they are in a child's birthday celebration. It will surely be funny and awesome!
Delegations are supposed to bring typical food and beverages from the country they are representing or from the country they come from , in order to compose our traditional "Nation's Fair". Also, they are expected to wear the typical clothing from these countries.
Each delegation, upon request, will have a stand to show the cultural aspects of the countries. So, if you are preparing something (and we truly hope you are!), please get in touch with logistics@amun.org.br and say that you will need a stand – also include any information you think that might be useful for us: if you need a TV set, electricity, a VCR, a wall, several chairs or even some time in the dance floor to perform a national dance! We promise to do your best to have all you request on time!
The deadline for sending this information is July 14 th . And do not forget: the best delegations will be awarded for their performance with prizes , such as:
- Dinner at Porcão (great place for meat enthusiasts!)
- City tours
- Book collections
- AMUN t-shirts
- AMUN DVDs

8. Database and payment
The deadline for registering your delegates is over by now. But the e-registration database is still online in case you need to change something before the Conference. Please make sure that all the data you provided is correct and that all vacancies your delegation have are complete (http://www.amun.org.br/eregistrationpage.htm).
Delegations that had not paid the fees correctly will be contacted. If the problem remains, the delegation will be prevented from registering in AMUN . Hence, make sure that everything about your delegates' fees is correct – just get in touch with finances@amun.org.br!

1. Faculty Advisors
If you have a Faculty Advisor, consider yourself a lucky Head Delegate: all the delegates of your delegation will not have to pay for the transportation fees (as long as your Faculty Advisor is a Professor of your University).
So, the delegations with Faculty Advisors must get in touch with us through cammilla@amun.org.br, send his/her/their name(s) and the delegation(s) he/she/they will be accompanying.
There will be no registration fees for Faculty Advisors and no limit of Faculty Advisors per institution.

3. OPS delegates
Several delegations are having trouble in finding OPS delegates because of the language obstacle (fluent Spanish is not that common, we know).
So, if you know one “espanohablante” person that might be interested in representing an American country in OPS , get in touch with cammilla@amun.org.br.
In some cases, there is the possibility of not even having to pay the delegate's fee !

5. Weather warning
Here in Brasília the weather is very cold and dry lately and we expect that no major changes will take place before next weekend.
Please be prepared to low temperatures (day – around 20° C; night – around 15° C), especially because Israel Pinheiro Convention Center (conference site) is close to the Paranoá Lake .
