3. What about Americas Model United Nations – AMUN?

The Americas Model United Nations was the first model in Brazil. It was established in 1998 after a successful participation of some students from the Universidade de Brasilía in a Harvard WorldMUN. Since them, the number of committees has doubled and the number of delegates attending the conference has been continuously growing. Now, on its 7th edition, AMUN is recognized and respected as the best and most important UN simulation in Brazil. And we will certainly be continuously working to improve and provide students with great and challenging academic experience.

4. Who can take part in the AMUN conference?

AMUN participants are generally university students with great interest in the UN world. Although the conference is organized by a majority of undergraduates in International Relations, it does not mean that AMUN participants must be studying or working or working in the International Relations field. In past AMUNs we had the honor to count on the presence of undergraduates and graduates in Law, Economics, Political Science, Business, Agricultural Engineering and even Medicine. However, it must be emphasized that it is strictly prohibited the participation of students not enrolled in an university level degree.

5. What is expected of a AMUN delegate?

The delegate is the central piece of the conference, since he/she will give different perspectives under which the topics proposed should be seen, discussed and agreed upon. Therefore, to reach these multiple perception angles, the delegate must be both familiar with the substance of the topic under discussion and acquainted with the foreign policy of the country represented. In sum, hard work and enthusiasm, that's what is expected of a AMUN delegate!

6. How many delegates should I include in my delegation?

That depends on the country you are intending to represent. There are countries whose delegations are designed to include only one participant (single delegations) and there are other countries demanding delegations composed of 12 participants. That precise information will be available to you as soon as the country list is released in our website.

7. Can students from different universities be in the same delegation?
